2025 Texas A&M University Adair Advisor of the Year Award, New Advisor
I’m addicted to teaching.
From creating rubrics and worksheets, to office hours and grading. The ability to blend my creativity and ideation with structure and organization make this career my dream job.
Something that I’ve learned about myself and my students over the years is that I am not necessarily a good traditional lecturer and my students do not necessarily want to be lectured to. Another thing I’ve learned is that creating lesson plans for adult learners that is lecture-light is time-consuming, challenging, and draining. With my teaching addiction, I can become all-consumed in creating the best most interactive lessons, while leaving crumbs of energy for my husband and sons.
For the sake of myself and my family, I’ve found strategies to create impactful courses while bringing a minimal amount of work home each day. Let me help you do the same!
Teaching Experience
I have been active in the college classroom since 2017. Chances are, I’ve taught in a situation similar to yours. I’ve experienced the 2+ overload courses without compensation, the teaching faculty position at an R-1 university, the adjunct gig as a postdoc, and even teaching and TA’ing 3+ courses while maintaining full-time graduate student status (both pregnant and with a newborn). Let me help you survive these challenging but oh-so-rewarding conditions!
