Kelsi Opat, PhD
teacher + researcher + storyteller
Howdy! I’m Kelsi Opat, an assistant professor at West Texas A&M University, specializing in agricultural media and communications. With more than eight years of experience in higher education, my research centers on science communication, narrative communication, crisis communication, and teaching. I am excited to collaborate with innovative scientists and dedicated agriculturalists in Texas to effectively share their valuable insights and stories with a wider audience.
I am incredibly passionate about crafting engaging experiential learning opportunities for my students, empowering them to connect theory with exciting real-world applications. I truly enjoy collaborating with community partners to build vibrant student networks while giving back to the supportive community that surrounds our university.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I enjoy writing for Western sports media. I truly believe in the incredible power of storytelling and its ability to connect and inspire diverse audiences.
I’m always open to new opportunities and collaborations. Please reach out to discuss how we can work together!
